Why is COMPASS important?
The COVID-19 pandemic is an ongoing crisis that could last at least a couple of years, with a high likelihood that it will occur in waves for an unpredictable period of time. As a result, not only does the US need to adapt to a new “normal”, but it is imperative that the US gathers critical data (e.g., comprehensive assessment of the impact of COVID-19 on the population) and respond to the needs of diverse populations as part of the public health infrastructure.
COMPASS will help to inform future policies, programs and additional research that can alleviate the adverse effects of COVID-19 for Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders.
