COMPASS is a nationwide online survey about the COVID-19 mental and physical health effects on Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders that aims to recruit 2,500 participants. It will help to inform future policies, programs and additional research that can alleviate the adverse effects of COVID-19 for Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders.

If you agree to be in this study, you will complete an online survey. This one-time survey asks about how COVID-19 has impacted your health, healthcare access, caregiving, experience with discrimination, employment, income, and coping and support strategies. It will take you about 15 minutes to complete the survey.

Researchers will use your information to conduct this study. Once the study is done using your information, we may share it with other researchers so they can use it for other studies in the future. We will not share your name or any other personal information that would let the researchers know who you are. We will not ask you for additional permission to share this de-identified information.

Some of the survey questions may make you feel uncomfortable or raise unpleasant memories. You are free to skip any question.
We will do our best to protect the information we collect from you. Information that identifies you will be kept secure. Only a small number of researchers will have direct access to completed surveys. If this study is published or presented at scientific meetings, names and other information that might identify you will not be used.
Authorized representatives from the following organizations may review your research data for the purpose of monitoring or managing the conduct of this study:

• Representatives of the National Institutes of Health
• Representatives of the University of California
• Representatives of the International Children Assistance Network

There is no benefit to you. The survey results will be used for research.

Yes, you do not have to complete a survey. If you choose not to be in this study you will not lose any of your regular benefits, and you can still receive medical care as usual.

In return for your time and effort, you will be provided a $10 gift card by the study team. Fraudulent responses would not be considered and no payment would be issued.
